Remind friends and family to vote on Election Day with new V-card
WICHITA, Kan. – Oct. 31, 2006 – This year’s Vote! Kansas campaign includes a new element designed to spread the word about importance of voting on Nov. 7: an electronic Vote Card, or V-card.
V-cards are similar to E-cards—customized greetings sent to friends and family on special occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries and holidays. Voters can send a customized V-card to their friends and family, reminding them to vote in their own fun and entertaining ways.
“The new V-cards are a great way for people to encourage their friends, family and co-workers to get out and let their voices be heard,” says Ron Thornburgh, Kansas’ Secretary of State.
Kansans will be able to send V-cards by accessing the Vote! Kansas Web site at www.voteks.org.
In addition to the V-cards, important information about the voting process will be available at www.voteks.org. Voters will be able to learn about important voting information, view important election dates and times, find their appropriate voting precincts, watch voting machine demonstrations and view the campaign’s television and radio advertisements.
Aimed at inspiring Kansans to be involved in the voting process this year, the television and radio advertisements began running statewide on Oct. 30 and emphasize the simplicity of the state’s new electronic voting machines.
“This year’s campaign is about inspiring people to vote,” says Mike Snyder, CEO of Associated Advertising, the agency behind this year’s campaign. “The advertisements and the V-cards are designed to show people that voting is not only essential, it can be fun at the same time.”
